Some guest comments:

“Thanks so much for a super enjoyable break. We really needed the break and it was comfortable and peaceful. We walked from there onto Ingleborough yesterday which was very convenient and a quieter route than the main 3 peak ones.” Jo O’Sullivan, June 2021.

“Wonderland place that was clean, comfy and peaceful. The views were stunning from the yard with a table and dining chairs to sit out on a hot summers day. Me and my partner stayed in the Shippon which was well equipped apart from wifi which we enjoyed. Free range eggs were offered to us each morning making us feel appreciated and welcomed. Nearby Towns are a 5-10 minute drive allowing us to dine out every night with a selection of cuisines. Helen and Ryan who are the hosts were very welcoming and helpful with activities nearby and what pubs were best to dine in. We would definitely recommend cold cotes and will be coming again” Joe and Maddie, June 2021

“We recently booked The Shippon, just for one night and very spontaneous for a family of four Helen was really helpful, came back to us really quickly and sent information on. Lots of really useful information about the accommodation direction’s and local services. When we arrived the accommodation was spotless, stocked with everything we needed, the area was beautiful, and the chickens added value, some eggs too which added to our picnic the next day. A wonderful get away.” Aaron and family, June 2021

“We had such a lovely 2 night stay at The Shippon. The accommodation was very clean, the location perfect and set by an adorable farm with roaming chickens which we felt was perfect for a relaxing getaway. Helen was lovely and really made sure our stay the best it possibly could be. We will most definitely be returning at our next available chance” Sophie, Ricky and Barry (the dog), May 2021

“I have been using self-catering cottages for over 30 years and The Shippon rates as one of the best!  Beautifully finished and ideal for muddy walkers and their dogs”

” We’ve had an absolutely amazing time:  we had everything we needed for a perfect romantic weekend away.  The Shippon was excellent accommodation in the perfect spot, close enough to Settle and Ingleton but you feel in the middle of no-where.  To top off a perfect weekend, we got engaged!  We will certainly be back!”

“A great base for exploring and we loved the modern-ness”

“Spent 3 days exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.  Returning each evening to our romantic holiday cottage was a highlight each day”

Sleeps 2 people

Some guest comments:

“The Dairy was fantastic. Everything was perfect for us. We were in a central place so we were not to far away from various places, whether it was towns or places to walk. The position of The Dairy gave us fantastic views of the area around us and being able to sit outside in the sun was brilliant.” David and Annmarie, June 2021

“We have stayed at Cold Cotes 5 or 6 times over the past few years, a great base for walking in the Yorkshire Dales with everything you need to have some time away on your doorstep at an affordable price and with a friendly host. We will certainly be back again in the near future.” Joe Troman, May 2021

We had a brilliant time, the dairy worked really well around our plans and was a perfect location for Yorkshire and a walk up Ingleborough. So overall really enjoyed our stay.” Simon and Emma, April 2021

“I spent three wonderful days in the The Dairy at Cold Cotes and loved it! The studio cottage was the perfect place to rest and recover after a full day spent exploring Ingleborough and nearby fells, which you can see from the cottage garden. The cottage itself is immaculately presented with everything I needed including all the cooking facilities I needed to cook my evening meals. It had a truly luxurious feels about it with all the finishings completed to a very high standard, from the underfloor slate flooring to the luxurious shower. The eggs from the chickens were a lovely touch. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Helen, the owner, was wonderful to communicate with and the family were very friendly. This is the perfect place to explore the locality, from the nearby Lake District to the Yorkshire Dales or maybe if you are doing The Yorkshire Three Peaks. I will definitely be back to explore the area more and to stay at the The Dairy. ***Highly recommend***” Mark English, April 2021

“Brilliant room, brilliant shower, brilliant bed!  Excellent access to Ingleborough, lovely dinner at The Three Horseshoes pub in Ingleton.  We’ll be back!”

“This is our second visit to Lower Barn and our first stay in The Dairy.  Lovely room! Everything is to the highest standard.  We always feel very welcome here and it makes for a great holiday.  Both The Shippon and The Dairy are highly recommended.”

My stay in The Dairy at Lower Barn was a little unusual.  I live locally in the Dales and I needed an accessible space to go to where it was peaceful to write, whilst my property was undertaking building works.  The Dairy was perfect for this.  Warm (important in late November), uncluttered with little distraction and in a rural but accessible location, the ground floor accommodation with modern spacious shower was ideal.    The scenic location with panoramic views from the garden offered the balm for a stressed mind.”
